Throughout his legal journey, Paul Humphreys ’09, has consistently exemplified the values of leadership, service, and mentorship. Currently a partner and office managing partner in the New York office of Freshfields US LLP, Paul has built a remarkable career focused on US and cross-border public and private M&A. Today, Paul attributes much of his professional success to the education he received at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at ĢƵվ and in turn, takes every opportunity he can to support his alma mater.
Growing up, Samuel Carvalho ’25 LLM dreamed of being a diplomat, an ambition that led him to pursue a law degree at the Universidade Federal do Ceará in Fortaleza, Brazil. However, during his time pursuing an LLB, he had the opportunity to work alongside environmental organizations serving under-resourced communities. This experience was the beginning of a new passion for Samuel.
From student leader to future law clerk, Joe Seminara '25 proves that determination and mentorship go a long way in law school.
The youngest of seven, Kyle Davis-Edwards ’25 grew up in a loving, humble household where his parents held him to high expectations. “My parents enrolled me in a private high school with the expectation that I excel in the school’s top tier sports and academic programs,” shared Kyle. “While my parents were strict, it was their guidance that cultivated me into the disciplined and driven person I am today.”
Susan Cacace ’89 began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney of Westchester County after graduating from what was then known as Pace Law School. In 2005, she began her nearly 20 years of service as a Westchester County Court Judge. A dedicated public servant, after spending 30 years as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and judge, she decided it was time to pursue a lifetime dream of serving Westchester County as the District Attorney. Now, after winning the election and taking office earlier this year, Westchester County DA Susan Cacace has an ambitious list of priorities to “bring Westchester to a better place.”

Griffin ’92, an alumna and corporate diversity leader—whose shared commitment to opportunity, leadership, and student success will help shape the future of the University.
Days after graduating from Pace’s Lubin School of Business, Michael Gelchie ’90 began his first job at Louis Dreyfus Company. Thirty years later, he became the company’s CEO, leading a global operation spanning more than 100 countries.

At the 61st annual Spirit of Pace Awards dinner, held on June 12 at the American Museum of Natural History, more than 270 members of the extended Pace Community gathered in the iconic Irma and Paul Milstein Family Hall of Ocean Life to do just that: to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of our students while recognizing industry and alumni leaders who typify the values Pace holds most dear.
